Autumn Harvest – Dakota City Heritage Village

Calling all volunteers! Join us for a fun family event at Dakota City Heritage Village.

The event is a hands on event where the guests will pick corn from the field, shell, grind it into corn meal and see it become cornbread in the Harris house wood stove. There will be farm animals, making of scarecrows, corn husk dolls, rag dolls, making rope, playing games like pin the tail on the donkey and apple fishing, square dancing, and other music, learning about Morse code and translating it, leaf tracing, milking a cow,, Pumpkin carving contest, and a medallion hunt. Children will experience an antique fire truck.

Set up is at 9 am, event starts at 10 am
